Cobra Fat Burner
Cobra Labs is the creator of The Ripper Fat Burner. However, Cobra Labs are actually owned by JNX Sports Supplements.
Under Cobra Labs they currently sell the following products:
- The Ripper Fat Burner (Which we’re reviewing here)
- The Shadow Pre Workout
- The Curse Pre Workout
They’re a well known range and have mostly positive reviews. However in this report we’re going to look deeper into this supplement to see just how well it works and why.
The Ripper Fat Burner Nutrition Facts
The Ripper Fat Burner’s supplement facts show a fast acting nutrient profile. It is made up of a concentrated ingredient blend that is used to burn fat. It acts as a support for controlling food and hunger, so your calorie needs are less apparent leading to fat loss. The Ripper Fat Burner is for serious users such as bodybuilders.
Below, we look at the main ingredients in Cobra’s The Ripper Fat Burner. There are some good options in here, but there are proprietary blends which may be a problem here.
Proprietary blends are when a supplement manufacturer chooses to hide the individual ingredient dosages in their product. Instead, they group them together under larger values.
This means you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it really is overall. It can make it a lot more difficult to judge.
That said, there are some good options in here, but there is room for improvement. Here’s what you need to know:
- CarnoSyn (Beta-Alanine)
This isn’t exactly what we’re looking for in The Ripper Fat Burner – but it’s still something you can use.
Beta-Alanine is more commonly use in pre workouts. It’s known for it’s ability to buffer the acid in your muscles, and improve blood flow.
This can help with your overall endurance and power output while training. While it doesn’t burn fat, it can help give you the physical means to burn more off.
- Taurine
This is more of a supporting ingredient too in The Ripper Fat Burner. Taurine is an amino acid that can help promote your overall blood and nutrient flow.
The benefit of this is that it can help with muscle pumps in the gym, but it can also help with nutrient absorption.
This can help give you a better session in the gym, and it can also help with getting the Ripper to work faster.
- Guarana
This is a better choice in The Ripper Fat Burner. Guarana is a caffeinated herb which can help promote your overall levels of energy among other benefits.
It does contain a small amount of caffeine which will support the amount that’s already in this supplement – but it Guarana also contains some antioxidants which can promote your overall health.
- Raspberry Ketones
This however is not a great addition to this fat burner.
Why do we not Raspberry Ketones in the Ripper? It’s not that we don’t like it in this supplement, we don’t like it in general.
The reason Raspberry Ketones doesn’t work well is because it has not been seen to work well for fat loss in human studies. RK has only generated results when given in large amounts to rats. This doesn’t scale up to human testing.
You’re unlikely to get much benefit from this ingredient in The Ripper Fat Burner.
The Ripper Fat Burner Caffeine Content
There is 200mg per serving in The Ripper Fat Burner. This is a high amount of caffeine for a fat burner, not to mention the Guarana in here.
If you have a high tolerance to caffeine, this shouldn’t be an issue. If you’re sensitive to this stimulant, we suggest taking it in smaller doses to begin with.
- Acetyl L-Carnitine
This is a good addition to The Ripper Fat Burner. Although it doesn’t directly promote fat loss, it can help you in other ways.
Acetly L-Carnitine is an amino acid which can help promote energy, metabolism and focus. This can help to promote both your performance in the gym, and the overall amount of calories that you would burn throughout the day.
However, dosage does matter. Studies show you need between 500 – 2500mg of L-Carnitine per serving to get the best effects.
Due to The Ripper Fat Burner being mainly proprietary blends, it’s unclear whether or not it actually has that here.
- Green Coffee
This is a good thermogenic in Cobra Ripper. Green Coffee Bean is a natural fat burner in the Ripper which can help you burn more than normal.
How? Chlorogenic acid. This acid helps to reduce your overall levels of glucose in your liver. That glucose is your body’s energy stores – if you reduce that, your body has to use other resources like your stored fat.
It helps you burn more fat throughout the day to keep you going.
- Green Tea
This is arguably the best fat burner in The Ripper. Green Tea can help by the antioxidants within it.
A specific kind of antioxidant in Green Tea known as catechins do most of the work here. After your body absorbs them, they help to promote your overall levels of the fat burning hormone norepinephrine.
The more norepinephrine you have in your system, the more fat you’ll burn throughout the day.
It’s a good addition to this supplement.
- Cinnamon Bark
This is more of a supporting ingredient in Cobra’s Ripper. Cinnamon bark is a nutrient which has been seen to help calm the stomach and improve indigestion.
Consuming it can help you body better absorb the nutrients in this supplement and get more benefit out of the individual ingredients.
- Olive Leaf
The final ingredient in this supplement, and doesn’t directly burn fat.
This is because it helps to regulate glucose in your body, and by extension – insulin levels. It’s a cool addition to Cobra Labs The Ripper Fat Burner and here’s why:
When your insulin levels are higher, it’s easier for your body to store fat from the food you eat.
By keeping it under tighter control, you should find it easier to keep the fat off.
- Ingredient Summary
In summation, you can see there are some good ingredients in Cobra’s The Ripper, but also improvements which could be made to this fat burner.
The main problem are the proprietary blends. You don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting, so it makes it difficult to know just how effective it really is.
The next problem is that there appears to be no appetite suppressants in this supplement. A good option like Glucomannan would really help to improve this supplement and help keep you on track with your diet.
There are plenty of improvements that could be made to help it.
Cobra Labs The Ripper Side Effects
The only thing you have to worry about with The Ripper Fat Burner is that it contains a high amount of caffeine (approximately just over 200mg).
As we’ve mentioned, if you’re unsure about this we suggest that you start with a smaller dose. You should also see your doctor if you have any concerns before taking it.
The Ripper Fat Burner Flavours
Cobra Ripper Fat Burner comes in 3 different flavours, these are:
- Pineapple Shred
- Pink Mango Slice
- Cherry Limeade
- Raspberry Lemonade
- Razor Lime
We’re unsure why Raspberry Lemonade and Cherry Limeade didn’t get a cool name like Pineapple Shred and Razor Lime – but here we are.
The Ripper Fat Burner Reddit
We’re not the only ones who have been looking at Cobra Lab’s Fat Burner.
Reddit also weighs in on what they think about it, although there isn’t much chatter, we did find one comment that stood out:
This is a good description. There’s a lot of caffeine in The Ripper Fat Burner and as we’ve covered in this review, Cobra Labs are known for making Pre Workouts.
Aside from this comment, there’s not much other information on Reddit for The Ripper out there.
The Ripper Fat Burner GNC
Cobra Labs Ripper is currently available at GNC. This may not apply to every local store, but you should certainly be able to get it if you decide to shop online.
However, we should mention that we could only find The Ripper Fat Burner in GNC’s US store, not UK.
Cobra The Ripper Fat Burner Review
In closing, Cobra Labs made a fair fat burner with The Ripper. The only thing we would say is that the proprietary blend seems to cause more problems than it helps.
We also have mild concerns about the caffeine dosage. However, if you can handle that, then that shouldn’t be a problem.
Finally, we would like to see some appetite suppressants in here to help balance it out more.
As you can see, there is some room for improvement, but currently it’s not half bad.
