Here’s the label and full nutrition facts, for this review we’ve chosen to look at the ingredients in the Tropical Freeze flavour. The other flavours have the same ingredients apart from in the antioxidant section – which may be changed to get the desired flavour. Here’s the label and nutritional information:
Before we get started, we want to point out the ingredients in G Fuel UK are all part of a proprietary blend. That means we only know the dosages for the blends – not for the actual ingredients themselves.
This means you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it is overall.
We’ll mainly be looking at the focus and energy blends as they’ll be making the most difference to your gaming here. Fruits like Blueberry in the antioxidant section may help vision – but without knowing the full dosage we can’t tell you how effective it will be.
Here’s our write up of G Fuel’s ingredients:
This is the first range of ingredients that we’ll be looking at in G Fuel UK.
These are the stimulating nutrients which are supposed to give you energy from using G Fuel UK.
Again, this is entirely displayed in a proprietary blend – you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it really is overall – aside from the caffeine which is labelled at 150 mg.
Taurine mainly helps with energy and endurance in GFuel UK, albeit not directly. It’s a common ingredient to see in cans of energy drinks.
It promotes blood flow in your body which can help the other ingredients in this supplement get into your blood stream faster which can help you to see faster results.
An amino acid which is extracted mainly from watermelons.
It’s great for endurance. After being absorbed, your body converts the citrulline into L-Arginine which helps to promote your overall levels of nitric oxide – which helps to promote blood flow and muscle pumps.
This can help you train for longer in the gym without being fatigued. The only thing we would say is that we don’t know the dosage – and for Citrulline to work well you need a lot of it. Around 4000 – 8000 mg. There’s no way that’s in here.
How this translates to improving your gaming skill though remains unclear.
A much better option in G Fuel UK as we actually know the dosage.
Caffeine is a great stimulant when it comes to boosting energy, focus and overall power output.
Caffeine has some great benefits when it comes to improving your concentration and length of it – this can help with gaming by giving your body more of an energy supply to keep you going.
Although it has claims to improve performance (both physical and mental) in GFuel, there’s actually very little evidence of it working according to research.
Many researchers are actually suprised how much Glucuoronolactone is used in products like energy drinks with such ambitious claims – yet there is no evidence out there that it may actually work.
The main research suggests that it may help with blood flow.
This is a much better option in G Fuel.
ALCAR has been seen in numerous pieces of research to help raise energy levels and focus.
Combined this can help you to play for longer without burning out.
Velvet Bean (Mucuna Pruriens) Seed Extract
Finally, Velvet Bean – which is also known as Mucuna Pruriens.
This nutrient has been seen in several cases to help raise your overall levels of dopamine and serotonin. This can help give you a better mood – for a more positive and focused mindset while gaming.
Now we get into the nootropic side of GFuel UK. These nutrients are aimed at improving your overall cognition to help processing power while in high stakes competition.
Again, though it’s worth noting that G Fuel UK’s Focus Complex is another proprietary blend. You don’t know how much ingredient you’re getting or how effective it is overall.
An amino acid in G Fuel UK which can help your mindset. L-Tyrosine has been seen in several cases to help reduce your levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
This can help reduce your overall stress and give you a calmer mindset which will help you to concentrate for longer periods of time.
Again, however, it all comes down to dosage depending on how well it will work for you.
This is a well researched nutrient in G Fuel UK which has been seen to help promote cognition.
It may help to reduce mental fatigue and improve memory to keep you more on top of your game.
Adensoine-5 Triphosphate Disodium Salt (ATP)
This is usually the energy that is used by your muscles. It won’t necessarily give you a boost during your game – it’s usually more suited to those who are looking to improve their performance in the gym.
It will help you a lot more physically than mentally.
Toothed Clubmoss Aerial Parts
Used for a component in the herb known as Huperzine A. Toothed Clubmoss is thought to help raise cognition and focus.
However, further research shows that Toothed Clubmoss only works for a short amount of time and can be easy to build a tolerance to – there’s also a potential for it to cause side effects.
A lot more research is needed into it.
Good for blood flow and memory, which can help you absorb the ingredients in this GFuel UK.
It has some benefits, but maybe not the best cognitive booster out there.
This is a much better option in GFuel. Bacopa is a well researched nootropic supplement which has been seen in numerous pieces of research to help promote memory, mood and overall cognition.
This one of the more full-spectrum cognitive boosters in G Fuel that we think will have better effects.
Is G Fuel Safe to Drink?
Although the dosages aren’t clear for any of the ingredients apart from the caffeine – we believe G Fuel will be safe to drink for most people in the UK.
The only real risk here seems to come from the Clubmoss which is thought to cause side effects when taken long term. It is not well researched in general – which could cause problems.
If you have any concerns we suggest that you speak to your doctor or healthcare professional before using it.

GFuel UK PewDiePie
Is PewDiePie actually sponsored by Gfuel?
Yes. Pewdiepie has a sponsorship deal with the gaming energy drink G Fuel. The Swedish YouTuber Pewdiepie made the deal early in 2019 and the esports energy drink company have acknowledged that they sponsor him.
Pewdiepie, who now resides in the UK claims to have chosen G Fuel as a sponsor due to the drink being a healthier alternative to some of the other options on the market.
He joins a fleet of other gaming Youtubers who also promote GFuel.
G Fuel UK Summary | Should you use it?
GFuel UK has plenty of good ingredients which could help with focus and energy while gaming. The main question we have to ask though is if you are getting the right dosage to get the best results.
We respect and admire that GFuel has a range of youtubers behind them and even an almost endless list of fruit extracts in their products – but if they don’t disclose dosages – how can you know how effective it really is overall?
There are plenty of nootropic and energy stacks out there which have been seen to work well for gaming – although you can’t drink them – you can certainly supplement them to give your brain, energy levels and vision all the advantages they need for you to perform at your highest level.
