Who are Bogey Supply LLC?
Based in Riverside, California, Bogey Supply is an Amazon vendor that has seemingly no other information linked to it.
This is the only supplement they sell on the platform. The rest of their items are home appliances and other products unrelated to health.
It is not a good sign that this will be an effective supplement.
Caliber Labs Testosterone’s Ingredients: Do they work?
When it comes to testosterone, some of the ingredients in here work, others don’t. The majority appear to lack the studies to support the claims made about the ingredients in here.
Take a look, and we’ll go through them:
This is a great start to Caliber Labs Testosterone. Magnesium is an all natural mineral which helps improve your overall levels of free testosterone.
That’s the testosterone that is readily circulating in your blood stream. It is the testosterone that is always readily available for when you need it.
Unfortunately, there is a protein in your blood known as Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) which binds to the testosterone and reduces its overall anabolic potency.
Magnesium helps by binding to this SHBG and reducing the protein’s overall influence. The benefit of this is that more testosterone can flow through your system without the risk of being decreased.
It’s also good for helping with rest and recovery as the mineral can help to reduce muscle twitches during sleep.
This is a great mineral too in Caliber Labs Testosterone.
Zinc works in a different way to Magnesium, it doesn’t give you more free testosterone – it increases the actual production of the hormone.
So, how does Zinc work in Caliber Labs Testosterone? After you consume it, your body uses Zinc for chemical reactions in your brain.
These chemical reactions can your body to create a different kind of hormone known as the Luteinizing Hormone (LH).
LH is your body’s precursor to both growth hormone and testosterone, the more of it you get throughout the day, the more support your testosterone levels have to grow.
This, however is not a strong option. Despite what you may hear in marketing, Tribulus Terrestris is a poor choice when it comes to boosting testosterone.
So, why is it in Caliber Labs Testosterone? It’s the current “in” ingredient for testosterone supplements at the moment.
The only evidence that it actually works comes from rat studies. It raises rat testosterone and libido. However, these results do not scale up to humans.
You won’t notice much from supplementing Tribulus, and at most you’ll get a mild bump in sex drive. Aside from that you’re not going to get much from it.
Again, this is a nutrient which doesn’t have much of an impact when it comes to testosterone.
What is it, and why is it in Caliber Labs Testosterone?
Chrysin is an extract which is found in foods like bee pollen which has been thought to help promote testosterone.
However, there’s only one case of this working – and it wasn’t when it was supplemented. Chrysin has only been seen to help your T-levels when it is injected directly into your testes. Those results have only been seen in one study, have never been able to repeated.
Aside from that, recent research shows that Chrysin may be able to help prevent colon cancer in a very small way.
What it definitely doesn’t do is raise your levels of the male hormone.
Horny Goat Weed
Another ingredient that won’t have much of an impact on your testosterone levels.
Also known as Epimedium, Horny Goat Weed is a herb which is claimed by some to help promote testosterone levels. However, studies have shown that this isn’t the case.
The only thing it may be able to do for you is to give your libido a mild boost. Again, like some of the other ingredients in here, it doesn’t offer much benefit in Caliber Labs Testosterone.
This is a similar nutrient to Tribulus Terrestris – and unfortunately it’s just as effective.
Longjack, which is also known as Tongkat Ali, has only been seen to boost testosterone in rat studies.
Again, these benefits are not mirrored in human testing. You’re unlikely to see much improvement from supplementing it.
This isn’t a testosterone booster in Caliber Labs Testosterone, but it can help you in other ways.
The Saw Palmetto plant can help with prostate. Research shows that supplementing Saw Palmetto can help to prevent and reduce the symptoms of hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).
Although, you won’t get the same benefit as actual medicine for the condition – but it is still a good natural option if you’re seeking some alternative support.
Hawthorn Berries & Cissus Quadrangularis
These two ingredients are together in our report of Caliber Labs Testosterone as they do similar things.
They both help to reduce inflammation.
By reducing inflammation, Hawthorn and Cissus can both help to improve circulation which can help you to absorb more of the ingredients in this supplement.
It’s more of a supporting nutrient, and appreciated in this supplement.
There are only a few good ingredients in here, and it’s the Zinc and Magnesium. Both of these ingredients help testosterone in some way, Zinc with production, Magnesium with free.
The same cannot be said for the other ingredients in this supplement. Caliber Labs Testosterone is mainly ingredients that have success in animal studies, or via injection – but not in supplements.
There are plenty of other options out there which would work better here.
How many servings are there a day?
Caliber Labs Testosterone only has one serving a day: 3 capsules before bed. This is easy to keep on top of, but may not be the best option for effective testosterone boosting.
You should be looking for a supplement which has 3 or 4 servings a day, that way it can give your body a constant supply of the nutrients it needs to keep your testosterone on the rise.
What would improve Caliber Labs Testosterone?
More study backed ingredients and more servings a day (for the reasons we’ve just mentioned).
In terms of ingredients, Vitamin D3, D-Aspartic Acid and Ashwagandha would be good places to start.
D-Aspartic Acid works in a similar way to Zinc and can help boost your LH levels. Whereas D3 is technically a hormone and can really give your testosterone levels a boost. Finally, Ashwagandha can help reduce your levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can give your body a better hormonal balance to thrive.
Caliber Labs Testosterone Review Summary
Nothing special here. With the only ingredients in here that help testosterone being the Zinc and Magnesium, you’re unlikely to get the benefits you’re looking for.
The servings only being 1 a day adds to this problem and when you stack it up it doesn’t look good. Especially when you see that the company behind it seemingly have no other health products.
Would we use it? No.
Reasons to buy
- It’s cheaper than a better testosterone booster.
- Contains Zinc and Magnesium which both help testosterone.
Reasons to not
- There’s only one serving a day – May not be enough to keep your testosterone on the rise.
- Some ineffective ingredients – Not all ingredients have the studies to support their claims.
- Only 2 effective ingredients – With Zinc and Magnesium being the only good choices, you could save money and buy yourself a ZMA instead.
- Company behind it don’t specialize in supplements – Bogey LLC appear to focus mainly on household items.
