The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham

A charity whose roots have been in Birmingham since King Edward’s School was founded in 1552, The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham now supports two Independent Schools, five Grammar Schools and a sponsored Academy in the City.

The five free Grammar Schools of King Edward VI recently expanded and changed their admission policies meaning increased opportunities for bright children on free school meals who are from less privileged backgrounds in the city. This is one of many initiatives the organisation is developing as part of its Opening Doors campaign.
