Spot 137 bear cubs that have been lovingly designed, created and nurtured by schools from all over the region inside museums, shopping centres and libraries from 28 June – 17 September 2017.
Crafted by children of all ages, from nursery, primary, secondary and special schools, this extraordinary showcase of optimism, creativity and imagination has engaged over 50,000 young people from 132 schools. All of who have spent the last nine months experimenting with pattern, texture and colour, to bring their bear to life at the same time as fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
Alongside the bear sculptures that have been sponsored by businesses and decorated by artists, the cubs have helped to turn the region into a fun, free and family-friendly art gallery that unites people and communities. After thousands of visitors have enjoyed the trail, the cub sculptures will be returned to the schools that decorated them as a lasting legacy of their contribution to The Big Sleuth.
